Field trip to Piiri

February 2014

Hey! I´m going to tell you about my field trip to Piiri, that we had last year.
Okay. So we had to be at school at 6 am. I don´t live in the city, so I had to go by bus, but the buses didn´t come so early! Luckily we we´re going with our parallel class and one of them lives in my village. His parents we´re going to drop him off with a car, so I could go with them. Next stop: SCHOOL! When we got there, the bus was already there, so we didn´t have to wait outside (because it was winter, and minus degrees). Yay!

In the bus, I was sitting with my really good friend (and a classmate). We we´re listening to music, playing cards, reading, eating (of course) and just talking. I really enjoyed this. After 3 hours of driving, we finally arrived at Piiri. By the way, I had been at this same place before with my previous class. Anyways, then we went to our little houses to change clothes. After that, we had lunch and headed to Kuutsemäe ( a mountain in south Estonia). There we got our skis and snowboards, that we had rented before. I had ordered skis that are a little bit shorter than my length needs because I find it more comfortabler to ride. But the ones I got were trick skis!! They were so small! I just started laughing like a crazy because I thought this was a joke. Unfortunately I couldn´t return them, so I had to put them on and go skiing.
3 hours later we walked into the cafe and ordered some food. Then we sat down and shared our first impressions. Everyone had enjoyed it so far. Half an hour later we went back to the hill. I love skiing because I started it when I was 4 years old and I´m good at it. Every year on spring break me and my family come to Kuutsemäe. I know all the rides. It was really nice to ski with friends at once. We hold hands, screamed (just for fun) and skied down together. I gave my phone to one of our classmates to film us (me and three classmates) coming down the hill holding hands. So we were all really close and screamed like crazy. When we were about 10 meters away from the classmate who filmed us, we went out of balance and one fell down. I stopped quickly and checked what was going on. First we started laughing and discussing why we went out of balance. Suddenly the classmate who had fallen down said that her arm was really aching. We went inside to check if there was a doctor. People said that she needs to go to the hospital in Tartu (because it was the nearest). She, another classmate and teacher drove to Tartu (it was 45 minutes of driving).

The rest of us thought that it´s time to go to our houses because we were all exhausted. We had dinner and played cards. About nine o´clock our two classmates (and teacher) finally arrived. She had a facture in her arm! We were shocked. Like what?! That was crazy. We all felt really sorry for her.

Next morning I woke up because I felt something wet on my arm. I was confused and didn´t understand what was going on. Everyone (well more like 3 classmates) were laughing. Then I noticed a tattoo on my arm. THEY HAD PUT A (KIDS) TATTOO ON MY ARM!! I was so angry at them, well mostly because they had woke me up (sleeping is very important to me!) but I was also disappointed in them. Like what?! I would´ve never done that to them! And it didn´t come off for days. Ugh!

Then we packed our things and went to eat breakfast. After that, we went to the bus and started driving back to Tallinn (capital of Estonia). After 1 hour of driving, we stopped to take a break. We went to Lõunakeskus (a mall). We had about 1 hour of free time. Me and my classmate went shopping (well I didn´t actually buy anything). When we were walking around the mall we saw fake polar bears. They were dressed and had instruments in their hands. When we pushed on a button they started playing music. We started laughing and dancing. That was fun! Finally, we bought some yummy smoothies and headed back to the bus.
Few hours later we were back in Tallinn. Luckily my mom picked me up (that usually never happens).

I really enjoyed this field trip. I got lots of fun memories to remember.
Hope you liked it! Talk to you soon :)
